At H2O, we are very proud to have EdUKaid as our official charity.
EdUKaid is a charity that has been helping the poorest children in Tanzania to get the education they desperately need. They are based in the remote region of southern Tanzania. They work in Partnership with local communities to improve the quality of education so that children have the chance of a better life.
EdUKaid’s goals are to:
- Engage the communities they work with, head teachers, parents and children.
- Research projects and pilot them.
- Work within local government and education structures to complement their aims.
- Facilitate networking and collaboration across schools.
- Empower local people.
- Implement simple changes that can have a lasting impact.
H2O Direct sponsor two classes; Naumbu Pre-primary class & Mkungu Pre- primary Satellite class.
H2O Direct has been sponsoring Naumbu Pre-primary class since 2020, funding the salary of a teacher and teaching assistant and providing an education for at least 60 children every year. They are giving these children the best possible start in life, providing the building blocks which will enable them to progress through education and the opportunity for a better life. As a result of this, over 300 children have already benefited from a pre-primary education and now have the best possible chance of completing their education.
In 2024, H2O Direct committed to sponsor Mkungu Pre-primary satellite class, one of EdUKaid’s new classes linked to Naumbu Primary School, providing a pre-primary education for children living in a remote area of Mtwara. The youngest children living in Mkungu village struggled to walk the long distance through the bush to Naumbu primary school so they were missing out on an education when they needed it most. Thanks to H2O Direct, around 40 children every year are now learning at the new class in their village- giving them the foundation skills they need to make the most of their education.
